honestly a cave type dungeon having dragon trope always bugging me, even if it was mean to be a strong species the dragon would always be in disadvantage position with how small the area is from the start, I forgot what it call but the type of monster snake with only 2 hand I think is a better choice for the environment

Kind of a trade-off I guess since small areas means harder to dodge a dragon breath too. Are you talking about Lamias?

yeah, dragon in cave is like bird in cage. they can't use their air superiority in cave. it limiting them. for closed space like cave dungeon it better snake like monster or humanoid kind like ape or monkey to jump and hanging on the wall.

Dragons feel more like a rear guard in terms of defence. And more like AOE dps.

Also in a small dungeon, dragon is a poor choice. It looks like it is using half the room in one go, not sure if that is a camera angle issue or it is really using half the room.

For a full on tank, I recommend an orihalcon golem with auto repair and blessing of the earth. Orihalcon nullifies all magic (according to most rpg genres) and blessing of earth normally means limitless hp and mp generation while touching ground. Which helps as they are underground.

Ah I see what you mean, I don't think that's a dragon though. Seems more to be just a lizard with no hind legs, I don't remember them using breath attacks. I think they would be great if it was a massive cave structure with multiple tunnels so they can take advantage of their speed for ambush. If it was just a small cave arena, I think an earth dragon would be more optimal; big, tanky scales, concentrated breath attacks in small areas.

Although the hero party killed a lich in this chapter, imagine if you could put a lich in a further room behind the dragon and keep spawning undead. Whenever the undead gets wiped, the dragon use a breath attack so everyone have to seek cover. Buys time to summon more minions for massive stalling
