It's a bit complicated. This is actually a blatant retcon.

The story used to be that she left the Jr Idol industry when she entered Junior High School. Hagu explicitly said this.
Now she's still an idol as of this chapter.

All of her Jr Idol doujins are still in the past, though. In the manga, Sasha never met the fat guy. That's considered a different timeline.

No, that's a different reality. The idea that she's a junior idol is still there but not necessarily the specifics of any doujin. As he writes he'll decide what he keeps and drops, but the fat guy you're referring to is definitively an alternative story, not related (I'm assuming you mean Futoshi).

It's better just to allow this manga to decide what is canon to itself and not to assume or worry about anything else. The doujinshi can give you an idea of Sasha's general personality and vibes but I'd be careful unless this series makes it's own statements.

The general ideas are the same but the specifics aren't always. As you mentioned, he updates things as he goes and is deciding what is canon or not. So with that it's best to just let the series say what is real or not, rather than assuming because of a previous older doujin.

It's more that the questions will answer themselves in this series. Plus I've seen a whole bunch of confusion about not understanding the Futoshi or If Routes and other things. I think people would be better to focus less on that stuff and let the series speak for itself. If it's still relevant and canon, the series will say so.

Yeah that's also what I said when I mentioned that he's deciding what's canon or not as he goes. So no need to guess, we can just read the series and it'll tell us. Although I think you and I already have an understanding of what's canon or not. This is more for other people who are asking questions and shifting through doujinshi for answers. Even when he says that stuff, he'll sometimes change some of that when it comes time to finalize it, which is normal when you're writing a real series that needs continuity compared to random doujinshi.

I just find it annoying, you know? He'll say one thing, then do the opposite down the line. I liked the idea that she wasn't a Jr Idol anymore, not just cuz it meant she was fucking less dudes, but also because it means a new, and different chapter in her life. As things stand now, it all feels too similar to the Futoshi route to me.

Jr Idols are very much a real thing in Japan. Even extremely sexual ones like Sasha. They clamped down on it some years ago, so it's not nearly as wide spread or erotic as it used to be, but Jr Idols still exist. And CP has only been illegal for less than 15 years there.

No, it's not legal. production/distribution I'm not sure how long it's been illegal, but I think possession being illegal is relatively recent, so I don't think the punishments are huge, if watsuki is any indication. I'm not sure about the history/it's enforcement, but it is illegal.

but the junior idol situation historically has tried to push that boundary and led to a decent number of young girls being taken advantage of. Iirc it's been getting better since it is a pretty scandalous industry it's had lots of eyes on it putting legal and cultural pressure on it. Junior idols are a Japanese thing, but entertainment industries using and preying on the bodies of preteen and teenage girls are worldwide, so I don't think its appropriate to say "in Japan it would sell like hotcakes" if more explicit stuff was legal. It would sell like hotcakes anywhere, unfortunately.
