If she were older I'd be on team Asahi but as it is... the choices are wait a few years (g-word concerns, torture) or Yae, so basically it's gotta be Yae, right?

I know people are saying things like "he's only 17" but he's thinking about college and career and stuff and she's... not? So there IS a clear maturity gap. And waiting like 3-4 years is way too long for the manga to continue (it's already started to overstay its welcome)
