Wait, that was the fucking ending?? I swear I have no idea what the Japanese audience wants. Genuinely good series like this one get the axe, while the hundreds of near identical boilerplate slop series will probably get published until they're finished.

If the whole series turns out to have been an ad for the LN, that just makes me not want to read the LN out of spite lol (not that I read LNs anyway). Fucking hate that shit.

I think you're missing out by choosing not to read light novels in general. I can understand not wanting to read it out of spite, but manga adaptations used to generate sales can help shine light on series that would otherwise not get any attention. It has pros and cons but I'd always rather have ANY adaptation than none at all.

I'm not gonna spoil an entire novels worth of stuff, and I highly suggest no one else here does either. But you can see the final couple of pages, so it's pretty obvious they get married in the end.

also edit to OP commentor: sorry I didn't realize the reaction was called "dumb" i just thought it looked funny, I think it's worth it, and the fan translations are free so you have nothing to lose. My bad on the reaction stuff


edit2: Fine I'll give, but I won't spoil too much. From what I remember with the Web Novel, at some point Haruka Shijoin enters a weird comatose state caused from all of the reincarnation timeline fuckery (also this happens pretty much when he confesses), and soon after the MC somehow teleports back to the real world and then back to the old world again, so a bunch of reincarnation stuff. In the process of these teleports and reincarnations, the MC needs to fix and repair the timeline through subtle changes in interactions with present day and past day Haruka. It's very hard to describe and it doesnt help that the WN is much more convulted, but it really is an interesting twist to end the series. And obviously he suceeds and they get married and have a family in the end. Author is currently writing a 7th novel that includes short stories and events that take place after they get married

Yea it's pretty clear they get married, but that can't be the "climatic" arc you were talking about, was it?

I've tried a few times, I just find the format to be kinda cumbersome to read when translated to English - I have yet to find one that actually flows well. The same issue's present in a lot of translated manga, especially when the TL doesn't speak English natively, but it's usually less noticeable due to so much of the storytelling being done through images. Plus I'm a very busy person in general, and on the occasion that I have more than the few minutes it takes to read a manga chapter, I'd rather just read a book lol.

It has pros and cons but I'd always rather have ANY adaptation than none at all.

Honestly, I disagree on this. I could understand if it was made clear what it is from the start, but it never is and always just feels like a massive bait-and-switch at the end. It feels like they're just trying to get you to read the LN out of some sunk cost bullshit rather than genuine interest, which always leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

You're right, I have since amended my comment. I tried my best to explain it from what I remember. There's a good chance some of it gets changed. Perhaps I am overhyping it but I think it is pretty well fleshed out and a unique twist

I'm biased but Secre Translations is goated. Secre does work for the Fan Translations of Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, and if you're familiar with that, it'll give them some good rep.

They're also taking on the incredibly challenging task of doing a faithful translation of Beyond the Boundary, who's light novel is notorious for complex and challenging writing and odd creative decisions
