for a moment, I thought this was the usual MMC fantasy that also allowed same sex marriages(?) which power to the author. I think my confusion comes from how coded the storyboard and art is. I don't know if that makes any sense but as an avid BL reader, I only got a clue after I looked at the tags and looked where it's adapted from.

I was low key hype to read a generic rebirth power fantasy manga but gay. And then midway through I got a little worried that it would actually be a generic BL with some power fantasy tropes. But then I got back on the hype train for some generic rebirth power fantasy but gay by the end.

Like I'm a little surprised that more BL mangaka haven't hopped on the "popular genre but gay" idea. I've read like three BL manga (specifically manga, I got a list of webtoons and manhua) that treated itself as a shounen adventure and they were a lot of fun and I wish there was more. Sometimes you just want some junk food slop but gay! It's cheap and tasty!
