Yofukashi no uta and sono bisque also have trash endings yet they have a second season coming lol is not about endings, is about popularity, remember that Japanese people don't give a fuck about english audience, if it is popular there it gets adapted.

I gotta reread this one since I haven't finished it yet, probably one of the first non-mainstream mangas that got me hooked. I loved Satsuki's character

Yofukashi no uta and sono bisque also have trash endings yet they have a second season coming lol is not about endings, is about popularity, remember that Japanese people don't give a fuck about english audience, if it is popular there it gets adapted.

I honestly wouldn't want manga to take the "modern audience" into account at all. I'm simply tired of this specific rom com bullshit trope ( like Nisekoi) where the outcome is cemented from chapter one. It always makes no sense that the MC just forgets about is initial love in the last few chapters and goes for the for the new girl. Just once I'd like something organic, semi believable.

PS: sono bisque was a the result of the poor health of the author and the the romance itself was at least on course the whole time with no weird switch or anything like that.

My guy, you have tons of other romcon manga to chose from yet you came and complain lol not every romcon manga is a nisekoi trope, you just don't know how to chose or don't want to.

BTW the romance in sono bisque was ultra bland at best, combined with the fact that the last arc was insufferable due to how long it took to end and the decision to end the manga early I considered it to be the greatest fall of a manga after OnK but meh, to each their own.

If I'm honest this manga subverted nothing, and was still a train wreck. It had at every turn fallen back on a lot of old tropes within the genre it comes from. I myself am just tired of the ham-fisted need for drama to extend a story, and it was quite clear who the author wanted to end this with.
