Are you talking about Kanojo mo Kanojo? Because I feel the same way, they should have ended as a three people relationship instead of the 5, the other two did not deserve to be in the relationship and the last one was essentially the antagonist of the series and the antithesis to the entire premise!
Nah, that one had been a double bi poly harem for ages. The one referred to was the one where the romance mangaka had no experience with romance and kinda blackmailed a new couple into being her model pairing in her work. She started to fall for the other FL first and then just dove in with both of them by the end. I don't mind a poly story (I'm a huge Imaizumin stan, after all), but this one made very little sense.

Super cute... but still nothing was solved I guess... we don't even know why the fuck they both are there without telling the ohter xDDDD...... but welp its nice to have some reassurance... but we will see what will happen next now.... because the agency still is pissed with Yamada....
They were both there because they were each thinking about last Christmas despite not coordinating it with each other (which, yeah, really makes no sense, considering they both have their phones).

Is the agency the problem? All we know is her manager has a stick up the backside about it. Anna herself has made a point of saying her agency has no policy about dating.

I think I remember what you're talking about but not the title. Yeah it was a drag.

Why... did she send the pic and leave? What if his phone was off? What if he lost her in the crowd? The ending was sweet, but the lead up was so confusing (and a little anxiety inducing). What was her contingency?
Who knows
But then again women often like to play mind game
That's why they're called "Women"

My best guess after reading this manga like 4 times now:

She didn't think he would be there.

Feeling lonely Anna goes out to reminisce about their important date last Christmas.
They both feel the distance increasing and she hates it.
In one of her clumsy and desperate attempts she sends that to remind him and basically say "look im here right now even if you can't be, that's how important our relationship is to me". Remember, she thinks he is maintaining distance and focusing on his studies right now so she is likely feeling conflicted and doesn't want to bother him to make him come on a date.

Turns out he was doing the same thing. Maybe she saw him again but like last time couldn't work up the courage, but when he chases after her then thats when things change and she reaches out to him after trying to run at firt.

Then we get the cute scene of basically him regretting the distance and reaffirming how impartant their relationship is with added proof of him actually being there

ITs a big problem because Yamada keeps breaking the rules of the agency... I would assume Suwa is on a tight spot because of Yamada, since he is protecting her a lot..... and the agency has no policy about dating, but seeing the last actions, blocking YAmada's regular event gathering and such you should realize that its a rly bad situation.
Suwa just don't want to say straight up for them to break up because he knows Yamada will be devastaged, but their relationship might cause a lot of trouble for Yamada, thats a given.

and yeah on the idealistic side sure it might be because they were thinking the same thing, but I'm thinking tYamada said something before, otherwise why she would give weird hints like "increasing her stamina" and stuff like this. SOmething feels off honestly.

I just love how this manga shits on cringey drama prolonging tropes and lack of communication and reaffirms love with actual good reasoning. That and actually explores and develops romance from a realistic and understandable angle, it's not all just love and butterflies, there's some conflict, some anxiety and tension and some drama, but it is always within reasonable proportions. Not just get them together, time skip happily ever after, after they just confess > manga end.

Can someone explain what the issue was? Reading with no brain.
What? I hate to say it but this arc kinda confused me. The pacing also felt a bit rushed. It’s still cute but I wasn’t 100 % understanding what was going on.
Kyo and Anna had to spend less time together because of the way the last volume ended with the agency and because they're both busy now with Anna's job and Kyo studying. This has Anna feeling down, because she wants to spend time with Kyo but doesn't want to burden him by telling him that since Kyo looks to be doing fine on his own without her (you know, like he said during his confession), which is why she ran away at the concert when she saw him with friends.

Kyo realizes this chapter that he was being narrowminded, hyperfocusing on studying and the future because he can build the relationship up in his head. He may be able to feel Yamada's precense everywhere but Yamada's the type that gets lonely and insecure about how affectionate she should be. So he reassures her by saying he'll always want her with him.
It's not only about the focus on studying, but also about the differences in their relationship needs. Quoting from Discord:
Rigabel said:
Kyo is apologizing for not realizing that Yamada isn't the same as him. She can't just be fine thinking of their relationship in her head like he does, she wants him nearby which Kyo now recognizes
That's what Ichikawa is talking about on pages 9–10:
  • "Yamada I feel you in everything [...] because of the love I feel for you, Yamada"
  • "But all of that is self-serving" – that is, it only serves Ichikawa, what is happening in his head doesn't help Yamada
  • "I'm just building it up in my own head. You're not there, though." – so Ichikawa is thinking about the relationship a lot, but doesn't communicate these feelings to Yamada enough.
On page 6 Ichikawa's flashback shows several times when Yamada conveyed her concerns about how she approaches their relationship and also about how their arrangement to not meet outside was hurting her.
I think what Ichikawa means by "I finally figured it out" on page 9, is that he finally realized that Yamada was hurting by being away from him. He realized that his approach, his thinking wasn't helping Yamada in the situation they got themselves in (the involvement of Yamada's agency) and it wasn't helping their relationship. Ichikawa needed to be more more forward about communicating what he was thinking, hence his monologue in this chapter, and:
  • "I want to be with you, always. I love you so much" – the layout of page 11 doesn't allow to place a translator's note, but people have already pointed out that Ichikawa uses a different word, not the regular "suki":
TL went with "I love you so much" since Kyo used "aishiteru" which is a really strong word for a love declaration. Most Japanese fans basically see this as a proposal lol.
From the discussion on Discord, it seems that the original Japanese is not an "I love you" kind of sentence, but rather Ichikawa talking about his love as the subject. The phrase is very hard to translate for several reasons. Here's a couple of quotes which helped me appreciate the depth of the feelings Ichikawa is conveying here:

Holy shit "I want you to be by your side forever, I love you (Aishiteru)" errr... this is like... marriage proposal level of confession actually... [...] but seriously... this is a bit... insane... [...]
"Aishiteru" is kind of a weird thing to say to as regular lovers, boyfriend/girlfriend you know... because the intensity and commitment is ... yeah marriage proposal level mostly. Of course these days you see young people saying this here and there but still is not common [...]
When you say Aishiteru is like... I don't think there is an "I love you" that could explain properly [...] nothing will compare [...]
Wording is not that weird to say to lovers... but Aishiteru... is a bit weird [...] unless a BIG commitment... and you know how Japanese people are with commitment [...]
The thing is, "Aishiteru" is about super high stakes, in a society that takes super serious stakes in everything xD [...]
I'm trying to say to people it's not the same as "I love you" at all xD... it's just as close as you can get. I'm trying to explain what is "I love you" in a world where people only say "I like you". It's complicated [...]
It's too unique to Japan [...]
When you see how stuck-up Japanese people are, makes aishiteiru seems even heavier. It's hard to explain. [...]
Yeah and to begin with, Japanese people don't even say "I love you" to family. It's funny even these days I saw some people "Mom, can you say you love me?" "Nah, this is for your dad" [...]
English speakers are not understanding how big is what is said

Aishiteru is basically a super love confession, it's saying "I love you" but, like, I want to spend the rest of my life with you
