imo it might be better if more emphasis is put on Yamada even before the band stuff. This arc is a little bit overcooked (too long).

She maybe an observer role in that drama but probably the story can show more loneliness watching Ichikawa going on his life. Drifting away from her or something.

There's also the thing that the whole arc starts at around chapter 158 where Ichikawa is occupied with studying. That's spanning FIVE months. Surely after all that wait we collectively forgot this has been building up for a long while.

Perhaps they’ll finally start openly being a couple now. At school, out in public, and over at each others’ places. Although the manga feels like it’s coming to an end, if it’s isn’t, this might be a good chance for it to return to form. Ichikawa and Yamada originally grew closer due to their shared experiences at school, bumping into each other outside of school, walking home together, and SPENDING TIME TOGETHER IN THE LIBRARY. It would be really nice to see all of that again with them finally fully understanding each other now (I hope) and move away from all the drama for once…I wanna see them spend time together…and more of everyone else would be great, too.

I was just concerned because they technically went full circle by kind of re-enacting the events they went through up until the 'we did it part'.
Speaking of the anime, the next anime project is going to be a movie (full-length film) not a cour-type one. It might be split into 12/13 episode cour if they are inclined to when the time comes but yeah, the said movie will probably cover up to their first kiss.
