this chapter brought up a very interesting point... why the fuck didn't Yuu just go to the school to look for her after Yami disappeared? Like, Yami started attending properly after that whole incident with Hikari so its not like she was skipping school...
But was Yuu even aware that she was attending again? If I remember right, the last that he knew was that while she managed to enroll into a school, she hadn't been going there. So he probably assumed that she still wasn't. After all, it was only by chance that she did go back and ended up meeting Hikari.

Nah that's how japanese do romance, sabotaging their friend other relationship too

Yami is truly this manga cancer and AIDS, and seems she author pet sadly, such incurable dease, hope Hikaru give her a well deserved BITCHSLAP
100% but I actually did enjoy her for what she was at first.. until she turned into the cringe sad girl^tm formula that lives off of sob backstories and flashbacks to explain everything away while trying to stay edgy evil "I luv my friends but there is darkness inside of me grr woof".

The last tiny bit of mystery surrounding her isn't really all that interesting tbh and MMC just looks like the bog standard average horny stupid dog trying to land one girl, doesn't matter which one.

Typing this out (and the poorly done ending of this chapter) made me realize that this manga really doesn't have anything interesting going on anymore, guess I am just looking forward to FMC after the grandiose ch 38?

Oh man am I so glad we're getting to see what actually went down in the classroom. I, for one, am glad to see that neither Yami nor Yuu purposefully sought out the other one.

People were crucifying both of them in past chapter discussions acting like this was all pre-planned. If you read the MTL translation of the novel you find out that Yami hid in a female staff bathroom to make sure she wouldn't run into Yuu. She also lied to her friends and said she was having a heavy period to justify not being in the classroom. She also confirmed again that she found out that Yuu was the one Hikari loved by coincidence. She also mentions that she wants Hikari to be happy so it's going to be real interesting to see how the kiss came about since that definitely seems to conflict with her wanting Hikari to be happy.

She goes back to the classroom after getting a text from Haru and Yuki so she assumes Yuu and Hikari are gone further cementing the fact that she did not want to see Yuu at all. She even says "...Let's go back to a place where he's not here and where we won't hurt anyone." My emphasis placed on anyone in that sentence because it could apply both to not hurting Yuu further and not hurting Hikari. I believe this really shows how much Yami has grown and changed after starting a friendship with Hikari, Haru and Yuki.

It's also relieving to see that Yuu was just killing time after leaving the classroom and not seeking out Yami as some people theorized. You can tell this is true because he came back to the classroom asking if Hikari was finished cleaning up. Up til this point, I think it's safe to say that both Yami and Yuu had the best of intentions and it's going to be interesting to see what happens next chapter.

I'm pretty sure he knew Yami was attending at least sporadically. I now honestly feel like Yuu purposefully didn't seek Yami out as he eventually moved on from her.

Were there people actually thinking that he was looking for her? Fascinating. Also as a side note, shippers are the lowest form of degenerates in the animal kingdom.
There were so many theories. Some people assumed Yuu only went to the festival to find Yami and fuck/confess/fill in the blank. There were some who assumed Yami was lying in wait to pounce on Yuu the first chance she got.

Look, I'll admit I hated the hell out of Yami from her introduction but I've come around now that I've seen both her circumstances and, more importantly, how she's changed/grown/whatever term you want to use.

Of course I'm going out on a limb here and next chapter might reveal that she's still madly in love with Yuu and actively trying to fuck things over. Can't wait.

Well now, time to finally see who was the instigator of the kiss, Yuu or Yami?

My bets are on Maruta throwing Yuu under the bus to make him look like an asshole and absolve Yami of blame of the kiss.

Just to fuck with us cause thats his style.

Not sure honestly. When he met her, she didn't have much interest in going, and he knew that she was already held back. All in all, she didn't give him much reason to believe that she had started attending, but I'm willing to wait until we see more.

If anything I'd say it's more impressive that Hikari never mentioned her friends by name before when speaking to Yuu.

With new chapters, Yami keeps being the best girl more and more. I feel bad for her and Yuu. I hope she continues to find happiness even if it means cucking Hikari again. They've been through it together meanwhile Hikari continues to be a bitch to them without seeing their POV. Especially Yuu's
What reason is there to feel bad for the both of them if i may ask? The world isn't against them. They have no enemies or opps that tore them apart and actively try to keep them apart still- she knew where he was, he knew where she was. Neither wanted to go and meet up.

Also, how is Hikari a bitch? She literally realized that she got played by both of them, getting involved in secret games that had her as colateral just for shits and giggles and seemingly is but a safety net to her crush.

I legit am asking, not mad at all. I really ain't that invested.

I just find it fascinating. It feels like readers like you fell trap to Yami herself.

Tbh it's somewhat disappointing that he wasn't looking for her, in terms of drama that is, however that they found each other by accident may be a good sign.

I do hope the kiss doesn't turn out to be a "goodbye kiss" both of them agreed to or some shit.

Hikari, she abandoning those two and moving forward that toxicity, so yeah Hikari is the only thing remaining

Going by what happens on chapter 23 he knew she had been held back once, so if I'm right she'd be a 3rd year if she hadn't been held back again. (Edit: Was she held back more than once? not really sure why I thought so...) he knew she was in the same school as Hikari and that they were on the same grade.

He couldn't know whether she was attending again or not but there was a chance she was, or at least he probably thought so going by his reluctance to accept Hikari's invitation. Could be that there was other reason for not wanting to go but I doubt it.

Edit: Was Yami held back when Yuu and Hikari were 2nd year on middle school? Or why is she 18?
