I feel like that is what led to his death. I can see a young Miko seeing ghosts thinking they are friendly, and one day she met one that was going to kill her, he dad, Yotsuya, then took the hit instead. Knowing there are ghosts, Yotsuya was okay dying knowing he could still watch the family in the afterlife.

Miko's dad died less than a year before the story started.

That flashback was so sweet. Too bad Seto is a fucking menace.

He can hear them. Miko's dad (Mamoru) was talking about Miko's mom (Touko) finger, so I suppose this mf heard him and try to attack

The tuxedo men was probably hiding around the corner. Noted that there's a deliberate frame of Seto stepping inside only after Miko's mom said "Please, come in." It's a common trope of supernatural beings only be able to enter someone's home after being invited.

Seto is a vampire. I can't be convinced otherwise. He adhered to the rule of needing permission to enter, and only vampires do that. Well, there's probably other fictional monsters that need that too, but vampires are the only ones I know as of right now, so VAMPIRE SETO.

Also, I totally thought this was a different manga up until we were shown it was Miko's parents in school.
