Why is Kase being so rude to Yamada?
She wasn't at fault for having to stay at work, she didn't have any control that a coworker called in sick, it was a sudden work related emergency.

Literally the day before both Kase and Mikawa told her she was running herself ragged and to take better care of herself and she even passed out in the middle of dinner. Then, even though she has a prior arrangement and the day off, she goes in to work anyway? She doesn't work for some black company where overtime is mandatory to get promoted, she works part time at a flower shop.

I would be %100 with Kase if not for that retarded "i would time better if you were here" BS. One sentence completely undermined the entire sentiment. How about not guilt tripping for 2 seconds and think about only Yamada? While Yamada is being a doormat concerning her job and needs to cut down, she still has like mountain of credit until she comes even near Kase's current debt due her back to back blunders.

Can she even say no to her boss in this situation?

Of course she can, even in Japan it's illegal to fire someone for refusing to come in on a day off.
I don't remember well, does Kase work and help with paying the bills?
Or does Yamada have to bear the full weight of their living costs?

Uhhh, she 100% was at fault? She had said it was her day off and already had plans, only reasonable answer to that call from work was "Sorry, can't do!"

There is no fucking way Kase just has the nerve to ask “Is your part-time job really that important?” Considering what she apparently thought was WAY MORE IMPORTANT than Yamada and their future…
Also the fact that author makes Yamada think she is sorry to Kase just makes it worse. Kase still havent done nearly enough to make up for what she did or gotten any sort of punishment for it, like this is literally the closes she has gotten to feeling just a tiny bit of her own medicine
