none of them really seem fishy to me, mostly just froggy and lizardy but i can understand the confusion.

but on a more serious side i could really see this arc dragging on and i still don't know how i feel about that. cuz on one hand once we're done with reiji delivering that message we're down to only one of his starting goals left, but on the other do we really need to deep dive into yet another corrupt country?

Probably because MC's gonna end up being able to de-curse her or something, so then she'll be non-useless and hot. I wouldn't be surprised to see the "curse" really be a skill orb, which he can just yank out of her.

100% the trial proceedings are just gonna feel like shit to read. Constantly bashing the innocent granddaughter etc etc until MC pulls out a miracle motion that is undeniably the truth, but then oh no! The prosecution continues and tries to execute her anyways, then MC steps up and the merchant friend sacrifices himself or something while they all escape.

No spoilers, just guesswork. God this entire other world feels like shit.

Because even if they're corrupt, they can still bring a lot of power to bear on him. And numerical superiority is still a form of superiority. He'd have to render the entire country uninhabitable to win in a fight like that.

(Kinda like what happened in the Barrier Mage manga that's been getting referenced. MC in that one pretty much unexisted the entire capitol and the entire country fell into chaos and ruin within days. Of course, it didn't help matters any that they were already in the process of a military coup, and the people staging the coup were worse than the people they were executing.)

I think froggo was confident that the might of a country could handle them if they protested. And while that's probably true, he's greatly underestimating Reiji and company. He sees them as small fry with nothing to threaten him with and nothing worth taking from. That's why he didn't order them imprisoned.

Because even if they're corrupt, they can still bring a lot of power to bear on him. And numerical superiority is still a form of superiority. He'd have to render the entire country uninhabitable to win in a fight like that.

I could see that, but I also think Reiji could merc everyone in the room, smash his way to the prisons, free the girl, and smash their way out of the country. All before the military is organized to stop them. At least that arrogant frog would get sqooshed.
