Fiona and Merida's interaction is just like when a girlfriend meets her mother-in-law, lol.
What concerns me now is: who is the current vessel of the Demon King? Could it be that this Fiona is just acting? Because the Demon King can read her memories, right? And will Zealark be pissed that the main character of his story changed, lol?

I assume the Demon King is taking a different approach or possibly found a better vessel than Fiona (please don't let it be someone Albus knows). At first when the disease was teased, I was assuming that the disease itself was essentially the essence/body of the demon king this go-around, robbed of his "proper vessel". But if it was exactly what killed Merida in the original timeline too, that throws a wrench into that.

Maybe in the previous loop, Rayman sold out potential vessel candidates in the hopes of mercy, but failed? Nah the timing doesn't seem right.

If the demon king hasn't taken the brother, that sounds like he's chosen a less optimal vessel in order to consolidate power faster. Or he's done something to merchant guy.

Albus's expression there on the last few pages implies he had a disagreement with Rayman while discussing his past life as the hero. They probably disagreed about how to go about defeating the demon king, either that or for some reason Albus was not fully on board about going on a journey again, but now has an incentive since Merida's sickness was caused by the Demon King.

Not to mention the time limit this time around is literally 1 year until Merida passes from the disease. There's also the mystery about the Demon King not possessing Fiona's brother this time around.

I just paid attention to it, but Albus and Rayman hair color are kind of the reverse of each other (at least in this black & white pages). I kinda thought they might be related.

I assume the latter as Fiona was the one to start this loop with the party in their strongest iteration. I presume even if Rayman can start a new loop there is no guarantee Albus and co will retain their memories this time around as Rayman is the hero now.
