Yeah, in most manga it ends up just feeling awkward and forced. That’s what’s so great about this one; their interactions feel natural and real, not like the author is beating you over the head with it.

Realistically, she will be gone next year, so the story will have to end. Maybe it will all wrap up for the anime with an epilogue where he starts uni\collage and they pick back up again and give us a sweet ending. I'm thinking of Nagatoro as a similar tale with a similar endpoint.

The fact that they can be so comfortable around each and not go in a panic attack whenever the argument is brought up makes it better than a lot of other Romcoms, including those where they are supposed to be "married" at the start but the can't even act like they are good friends.
