You usually don't want the boys crossing the girls' floor for obvious reasons, also it doesn't apply as much for a fantasy setting but I feel like in case of an intruder having the guys floor first would be a little safer.

But wouldn't there be a similar problem with the girls crossing the guys floor? If it's just the act of being on the same floor both are bad, right?

I didn't think I needed to explicitly say that men are more likely to commit inacceptable acts towards women than vice-versa and that giving them plausible deniability was not the better play. Having the Women's floor above and forbidding Men from going up there is a simple way to avoid possible bad situations.
