There are some words that just can’t be translated across languages. In terms of situations like this, the translator should keep it as is and just add a footnote onto the page. The previous group did this when “yukichi” was first introduced in the beginning of the series.

Also, I understand where you are coming from but “Benjamin” would still be Americanized. It could cause confusion for readers that aren’t familiar with the American banking system.

Gotta say even I had forgotten the joke about it earlier besides manga in general using it as a running joke. Is what happens when no one translated it for 3 years does to a man I guess rip.

Oh parents really need to learn about how to setup a console before getting them one. I know personally a family a that bought a console for their kids but didn’t setup a timer, age rating and payment restrictions and I remind them multiple times. But the kid got sick and was acting up because of it while playing at took the console way from the kid and haven’t had for over a year now.
If they setup a console timer and actually talk to the kids on gaming rules it wouldn’t happen. Parents need to do the research because like anything issue can happen that could have been resolved before it can happen.

Why have the -chan and -san been removed from how the kids are calling Kina?
The youngest calls her Kina-chan and the oldest Kina-san.

The choice for what to translate and what to remove doesn’t feel consistent.
For example, the uncle refers to his older brother(the restaurant chef guy) as onii. And this is kept in this translation. But the suffixes are removed for how other characters refer to people.

Actually, the Uncle is the older brother. Akito (the uncle) is referring to Touma when he’s saying onii to Haru. I find the translation is inconsistent also between keeping unnecessary Japanese words and translating needed Japanese jargon. I wish that they actually referred back to the previous group’s translation and kept it consistent.

• Touma refers to call Kina as Kina-san because he was keeping a barrier up.
• Haru calls Kina as Kina-chan….. just because.
• The Uncle has always called Kina by her full name Kinaho.
