Sorry for the wait. I got burnt out redrawing this chapter and kind of got sick of manga for the time being. To prevent this in the future, I won’t be doing the SFX anymore. The next chapter will also have partial SFX, since that work is already done. I’ll continue posting new chapters indefinitely, but if someone else wants to take over they’re welcome to.

Some TL notes:

The Japanese term for hydraulic warfare is “Mizuseme”, literally “Water attack”. Probably the most famous example in Japanese history is the siege of Takamatsu castle, where, like here, a river was redirected to flood out the opposition.

The closing quip is a line more or less ripped from the theme song for Combattler V. While Combattler has no railgun, railguns use electromagnets, and Combattler is electromagnetic. The line in the song even contains the word “electromagnetic”.

I imagine with being immersed in cement the more pressing issue would be the caustic burns from the alkalinity. actually what they did in this chapter would be really impressive from a technical perspective. most mixes, if you just wiggle around stuff in them while they're mid-late cure then they just fracture like eggshells, so to reach all the floors you'd need something that has really good flow which still somehow immobilizes ... no, I guess if the slope was steep enough, you'd get shear thinning like lava, and it'd only pick up aggregate along the way. would they need a more aggressive deflocculant or would the layering alone help? wow that could be really interesting.

I hope in the next chapter they try some kind of heavier-than-air gas without a strong odor, just pumping it until everyone asphyxiates, like in some mines. where do they respawn? I forgot but this might be the only thing that will keep them permanently dead. but maybe they have magic HVAC down there. thrilling

would be funny if they pull the ole carbon monoxide/dioxide flood... then again gas so if a wind spirit like sylph is on that team might be able to counter it... then again something else that could give these poor ole gals a hard time, liquified sewage, charnel house, and town dump contents poured in instead. if the filth feaver doesnt cause lingering issues the enviromental contamination will be a nightmare to work with... karoshi is not a fun way to go. a bounus is it will ruin the dungeons popularity and give it the rep of wet dirty stink hole for years.

The thing with these gasses is that they do not smell, which makes them particularly dangerous
