They start their own store and then just... become background characters, rarely heard from again.

As annoying as they are, I find their existence to be the right kind of obstacle for a slice of life. As long as it stays a slice of life, that is. If they get fridged to send the MC on some path to fight the "Demon Lord," the plot will just tank.

Just double checked the LN, they calm down once they get a store, then play a bit of a supporting role in the upcoming Suama story, but then LN vol 4 ends.
In LN vol 5 they exist for half a page "Yo sis's, I'm heading out of town" "Bring back souvenirs!" end scene
