Hiroki should've just dodge Ren's attack, then run and hide behind the king. That way, Ren's attack have a chance to hit the king when it misses Hiroki.

to kill the king right there would just trigger a war with the MC and his friends. and we can't have that.
but at least put the braclet on the king and control him.
order him to:
Lose weight.
do all the dishes, cleaning and dancing while he is at it.
Death too easy.. no. humilate him instead. he did humilate everyone. now he needs to eat his own medicin.

  • Get Kidnapped from their world
  • Forced into Jail or servitude through blackmail
  • Multiple killing attempts
  • Fought hard for survival and get freedom back
  • King laugh to their face, goes back on his world, use a brainwashing tool
  • Survive yet another killing attempt
  • "Thank you you majesty"
Fucking Hell. At this point it's not a matter of weakness or whatever, that kingdom has proven to be utterly unreliable, nobdoy cares to keep the vicious king in check, and he already went back on this words. They still don't know the full extend of the possibilities out there, he could brainwash them with another magic tool.
But nope, "Thank you, your majesty", everything is all good now.

Doesn't King Joseph have one of the 3 keys Hiroki and co. need to unlock their way home?
If they kill him now... perhaps the prince will part with it?
Hiroki should take a trip to the Beast Kingdom for the next key, and then come back for the one Joseph has - maybe he'll have cooled down enough to part with it.

 are they going to believe someone who lied to them multiple times and tried to have them killed? And no remorse at the end of the chapter, not even fake attempt of an apology

I have a hard time imagining this fat bastard is the glue holding the entire kingdom together. His corruption might be holding together his court of lickspittles and enablers. (Anyone who let Joseph stay in power this whole time is also asking for a purge). And outside of his faction, there are other nobles able to rise up and take the reins; for better or for worse.

But not knowing if the next guy will be worse is a terrible reason to keep the current terrible guy in power. To review King Porkmouth's record, he:
  • Kidnapped three magical superhumans
  • Used slave magic to control them
  • Broke multiple promises to them, in front of his court, tanking his trustworthiness rating
  • All so he could use them to wage a war of aggression that would have resulted in thousands of pointless deaths
If the king's plan went well, he'd have been a tyrant who caused his people to hate him for the widespread destruction he caused. And the king's plan did NOT go well, resulting in three superhumans who hate him.

He gambled big, and he lost. He's a massive destabilizing force on his country. Simply letting him go invites civil war. Nah, when a regime fails this bad, you kill them off and clean up the mess.

Too Stupid To Live.

Too tired to even type out how idiotic this is. I sincerely regret wasting the time investment reading this manga.

Dropped as well.

There are plenty of valid reasons not to kill the king, as blatantly evil and worthless of a ruler as he is. Morals, avoiding the upheaval after the assassination of a monarch, or just cause they think it's the path of least resistances to getting back to their world. There could even be reasons why they can't just use the bracelet on the king: maybe they don't know how to activate it or maybe its power is gone now that the contract is released.
But there are no reasons to claim that threatening him for their own safety is "going too far." Hell, they have basically no reason to believe he'll honor any promises he makes even under threats of coercion when he's shown he's willing to break promises he made in public while suffering no consequences from doing so. Trying to appeal to his morality is even stupider, since he clearly has none, and wrapping it up with his son coming in and saying "stop being bad" is absurd.

This feels like the lazy "solve everything with violence" you see with edgy power fantasies but taken to the opposite extreme.
