Checkov's oddly behaving dialogue choice can't be there for no reason. I initially expected it to be a checkpoint or something, but he still respawned in bed at the same moment as usual.
Maybe multiple routes per girl?

I am very curious what the big twist will be. I can't imagine the series will just be a straightforward "conquer each girl" kind of thing. Their fragmented memories and that choice moment have got to come into play somehow.
I for one hope things get SUPER weird. Like game reality breaking down, yandere routes, genre shifts, etc.

Wait, I think I figured it out... he's playing on "Hard Mode" now, but everything gets reset each time he "conquers" a heroine and improves their situation..he's just setting things up for the protagonist's routes. Which means he has to watch as he gets NTR'd as the main protagonist's routes really begins...

It can go one of two ways. Either it's very straightforward and to the point and each chapter will have a heroine saved and conquered and then a final epilogue chapter. And that's perfectly fine and serviceable. Sometimes short, sweet and to the point (even though each chapter is fairly long) is a good thing.

Or this entire saving the heroines is just a setup to the actual main story and we're just in prologue territory...
