What do you call a relationship like this?
It's not romantic, i believe that for sure.
But it cannot be denied that it's has a great amount of love in it.
They care for each other to a great extent.
They want to be next to each other side.
And they're trust is something to be envious of.
Friendship is a too shallow of a word to describe it.
Familial seem's to not fit, yet close to describe it.

Maybe because it is special that convetional names can't describe it.

Soulmates, if you think of them as equals.

People tend to forget there's more than a 10 years gap between them and the situation that brought them together. They're definitely closer to a father/daughter relationship, but with the added friendship that comes with being partners with very similar values. I'm happy this isn't a romance. They're both very loyal and nice people, not only to each other. They just spend the most time with each other so we the readers might get confused

Dude literally stated that he felt like a father or an older brother when he saw her mature enough for dating.
And from her angle, it can be deduced that it is deep respect and immeasurable thankfulness for enabling her to have such a fulfilling life.
He does not considers her as a target of romance as he sees her as a child to whom he is a benefactor and a teacher.
As for the adorkable maid, her emotional scars are kinda hindering her development and expression of affections.
From their angle, they do not contemplate about the nature or the name of the bond they have.
