The MC is kinda retarded. He is taking too many unnecessary risks. Maybe the vessel was never intended for deep thinking.
The MC used to be a soldier before "volunteering" for the monster transformation, if memory serves. Naturally there are all kinds of soldiers: those who would rather not fight if possible but will if needed, and then there are those who would want to test their mettle in action. I'd say, for the MC, battles are his thing. I reckon the body was also designed so that it further enhances the desire to have good fights.

Those folks from Canaan seem to be the real idiots if they can't already see they are facing an opponent with the intelligence of human level.

I agree about the ambushers, but they have the excuse of not having had the opportunity to study the MC before committing to a full-scale attack. The MC, on the other hand, is not only a skilled fighter, but also highly mobile and stealthy. He can study humans, especially mages, 24/7 without any problem. The only things going for the MC are his physical strength and durability. He isn't immortal by any means.

There was no reason for him to stay in the place prepared by the mages. This is especially true after he confirmed that an enchanted weapon could harm him. The MC underestimates the risk of magic too much.

Maybe he's fighting against the emotional suppression. It could be annoying to fight smartly if he can't get any satisfaction out of it. He doesn't have even salt, so he's not enjoying food too much. He lost his member, so while he can peep on the elven ladies, it ought to be frustrating before long. He feels the desire to fight, but if fighting with the highest efficiency against weaklings doesn't feel like anything, it does nothing to help him feel alive.

It's a good excuse for why the MC acts irrationally. However, if that's the case, then the author isn't doing a good job of conveying it. I would like the MC to acknowledge at least once that he is losing control of his emotions. Then it wouldn't just be us coping. (Or maybe the author already did it and I forgot. I remember the spider monster, but I thought that the MC was different and pretty stable)

Basically its about acceptance.

People don't want to believe something that challenges their norm or common sense.

To them, Monsters are mindless monster incapable of intelligence or communication.

So, they can't accept that there is a Monster with human level intelligence.

Isn't it precisely coping? Not us, the MC. He used to have emotions, back when he was a human, so he's familiar with them. That's why he noted his new body is trying to remain calm all the time, which surprised him. He would be missing those emotions, feeling something lacking. So, to cope with it, he would seek to push harder and harder. That's perfectly realistic. While the spider monster was a scumbag probably from the beginning, it's possible he's was driven into deeper scumbaggery by that very thing, trying to feel something once again. Fighting those weaklings normally wouldn't give the MC any stimulus, so he purposefully sought out of a situation that should be desperate. Unfortunately, it didn't do much for him, with the Canaan army being so incompetent.

Perhaps you are right and it wasn't stated clearly enough, but I still got an impression that's what he was after.

can anyone do anything to MC worth being killed for? pretty sure every death was unintentional in this since MC is totally ok with people trying to murder him, i hope the next army they send succeeds like he wants.
