I like this author's art style but man, it's kinda hard to get invested in a story where everyone in the whole damn world sucks ass.
I didn't like it but I was able to deal with the second-class citizen status of demons in Exorcist and Demon-chan because Demons lived separately from humans in their own society and they were antagonistic to humans and so it made sense humans were antagonistic toward them. Lily was an exception, at first. But to have that level of animosity towards people who've been living and working alongside you and aren't antagonistic at all feels extra fucked up. Fucked up in ways that the real world is fucked up. It's more uncomfortable for me and I'm struggling to enjoy this story because of it.
I guess I'd feel better if Tanya and William had at least one or two friends who didn't think they're garbage freaks that society would be better off without. I guess we're just starting volume 2 so it's early days yet, but the hope that we'll get to that point soon-ish is the primary thing that's keeping me from dropping this. Even though Tanya and William are cute together.
