I feel like the MC's name changes every other chapter, I prefer it to be written as it would sound spoken, but it's such a contentious topic that really isn't a big deal.

No, the Japanese think it’s funny. Dragon ball z characters are all named after appliances and food.

In regards to the name, just stick with absolute.

Funny how almost every chapter in this series have comments argue about his name.
In case you guys don't know, in the eastern culture, they pick any characters/words for names. If the author never had outside experience, they most likely does it for western themed character without realising.
The other thing is, in Japanese, they have a different script for foreign words, so to them it will read normally as a name.
Well it's up to you as the translator to keep it in context (not translate it or highlight it in some way) or fully translate it (can get confusing at times).
