All pages on this chapter see how touko makes friends with his friends :meguu: so who is the man at end of page? Is his biological father real or just a stalker? :thonk:

I feel like I've been missing something for the past 20 chapters. Both the comments and the editor notes make Touko seem sinister, but isn't she just normal? Like, with her dad she's a little clingy and cloying, but that could just be her trying to make sure he feels welcomed into her family.

With her friends, wasn't she taking the actions that a good person would take? I.e. maybe she doesn't really personally care for this girl who's obsessed with her, but she knows a good person would help her out and not want her to be ostracized.

If anyone at all is scheming, it would be the mom I think - in which case Touko's mannerisms are learned and probably not an indication that she's also being conniving.

I feel like when I read this manga, it's a social experiment by the author to see if he can convince us a character is evil using only how he frames her in panels, editors notes, and the absence of an internal monologue.

The last time she did anything sinister was with the bully.
My brother in Christ. While I get the instinct to protect the cute, misled girl, there’s no way she’s that innocent. The subtext, micro expressions, and clearly planned and coordinated actions with the mom means she’s all in on the scheme. Whatever it is.

It doesn’t mean she’s mustache twirling evil, but is focused on her less than wholesome goals. Hence the carefully planned image, and being friends with the infatuated girl that can cast shadows on said image if she goes into what she knows. More practical than anything.

All because she took a picture of her and her "Papa" and spread it around the class.
Lol no, Touko actually give the stupid blonde a warning after the picture incident and told her straight up: I don't care what rumours you spread about me but if you go after my dad you're finished. And what the stupid blonde did? She goes after Touko's dad and tried to falsely accuse him of touching her. That's was it, she's been warned and didn't listen. And Touko knew she crossed the line since the first thing she did after the stupid blonde mother starting beating her up is to find the picture on her phone and delete it.
Yes, this was going too far but but she was told off and she was too stupid to listen, that's on her imo.
Also, start digging guys, the original dad won't bury himself after Touko and her mother is done with him, that is if there's something left to bury...

I think you might have forgotten, but since the beginning of the series, and even a few chapters before, she had been pressuring him into getting her pregnant if he couldn't do it with her mom. Then, she eavesdropped on them while they were banging. And ruined the life of the blonde(from the earlier chapters, I have a vague memory of it). In all, I think she is equally if not more sinister than her mom.
