He was, but he was still in the car, they hadn't reached the lab yet because the police detained them for a bit. And Hana was unconscious because he took several tranquiliser shots. But Murasaki injected him with something that nullified the tranquiliser, apparently, and he woke up to kick Crawley's shit in again.

Kendama describes what happened, but the part with Hana being in the lab was his dream when unconscious.
