could be gnood, but Minecraft is unfortunately a children's property now (blame Dream and others) so the movie had to be fucking lame.
Man, when I was a kid, I watched qui gon jin get impaled and maul sliced in half, as well as seeing several aliens explode during pod racing.
Kids would likely love to watch the movie, even if that one would likely at best get a teen rating.
Makes it way more enticing to watch it by having their elder silblings buy them for them

Yeah but then parents would never take their kids to see it. The reason why the Minecraft movie was made the way that it was is purely for adults that want to take their kids to the movie

That feeling when the star wars exposure to ep 1 was due to my dad.
And even then, spongebob's early seasons were also pretty childish in humor, but the city of bikini bottom meanwhile was a reference to the US nuke tests on the bikini atoll (and the native inhabitants)

okey on point 1:
star wars had a pre-established audience and there would be a legitimate interest for adults to go, so making the movies also available for kids made the potential audience wider.
point 2:
spongebob's early seasons? they weren't childish, they were the most mature of the show. the rest of the series past Season 4 (including parts of even that season) is pretty childish. The reason why SpongeBob used to be a really enjoyable show even among the adults watching with their kids was because they wrote in a way to appeal to adults with the idea of introducing these concepts to children.

The episode "Hooky" is simultaneously a fun episode for kids about SpongeBob and Patrick goofing off but also a metaphor for drug addiction. The hooks are drugs; you can get a high but if you stay attached (and therefore hooked) bad shit happens to you.

Plenty of jokes intended for adults throughout the first 3 seasons.

Maybe? But I still think that he couldn't have worked. It's a story game with choices, so having a mute protagonist would mean all the choices only directly affect your character.
have him show up as a reocuring threat kinda like the nemesis from the resident evil games.
he doesn't say anything, he has the same animations and limitations as the base game. and he respawns.

You can say that again. Remember when Microsoft forced people to migrate their Minecraft accounts to the Microsoft servers or risk getting their account deleted back in 2023?
I remember when notch made enderman. Black people who couldn't swim and got scared if you looked at them. I remembered when he introduced them in the same update as iron bars and watermelons. I remember when notch made villagers greedy fucks with big noses. That used golems to protect their wealth. And now Mojang adds animals based on if they're going extinct. Not even joking. They also want to discourage you killing them.
