Her misguided advice makes sense considering she barely knows MC and Yukishiro, who knows him better, was already suspecting he wanted to distance himself. She's been getting too close to MC, but her explanation for why is reasonably plausible, and the bad vibes he gets from her could just be him being overly sensitive.

If it were only the advice you might be right but Tsubasa was getting quite physical with Souma on the train (to the point he fled before his stop) and at the same time giving "advice" to Fumi to distance herself from him. She is trying to seduce Souma while advising Fumi to step back. This is clearly malevolent manipulation.

Don't get me wrong. From the readers perspective, we can see she's obviously a snake. I'm talking about Souma's perspective and why he may not feel comfortable condemning Tsubasa's behavior to Fumi and encouraging Fumi to distance herself from her new friend

That's one way to see it since the web novel ended with Hanabi finally buzzing off, if only temporarily, a dozen chapters ago. That covered up to the end of the first light novel volume. The current and upcoming events cover the second light novel volume. It's quite possible that they don't intend to or are gauging the audience reception before commiting to third one so the author probably wants to try and wrap up as much as possible within the confines of this second volume.
