Well, I had a certain read of things based on last chapter. I thought she had a real emergency and needed his help, but he'd miss it cause his phone was dying, then feel bad about it. The formula for a Hebi reform arc. I was 100% wrong. Hebi was just calling for phone snek.

Honestly as a commenter said prior, hebi does bring life into this manga and kei actually locking in for hebi was a genuine treat for someone who was traumatised by her. I'm curious as to how kei will deal with hebi constantly pestering him just so she can get her way, only to slowly but surely realise kei can have revenge on her for her breaking his heart. (Ik it won't go that way) But kusunoki being how she is, she'll start understanding her relationship more but she'll still be mostly perfect in this story.

Its a bit of a "the boy who cried wolf" scenario i think, vecause even if she tried to earnestly become friends with him after this, i doubt hell be all that open to the idea, given what shes already done.
Hopefully this will help hebikawa finally grow up too and bring her out of her frankly idiotic worldview.
