Well at least it seems to be turning out better than the web novel, quite a few of the iffy points are gone and it's flowing smoother. I do miss Primrose's role (in wn she was the one to cut Indra's hair for her), pretty sure the poor girl's gonna be relegated entirely to 2-bit incompetent irredeemable villain role

Well, then again, that sort of stuff can change over time, so who knows what the future awaits us. Dread it, run from it, destiny arrives all the same, Japanese fetishes being inserted in fantasy stories written by Japanese authors.
Also side note and going back to a complaint from the previous chapter. Knowing this ahead of time, I would have just stuck with the guy fully acting like he was talking about a guy, since now we know he assumed that she was a he. I get the usage of They because of the vagueness of Japanese language not translating well outside of the constant usage of They for an English speaker because we have entirely different language systems.
Hell even after he finds out that she's a girl, the translation could insist on perpetually using they at all times with every interaction across all characters because that can still be seen as accurate translation, but it ends up sounding very clunky and unnatural. For example, we would never be able to hear the words I love you in a romcom, we would only be able to hear at the best, I like you a lot. I mean that's what Daisuki translates to. I mean we know it means I love you, but word for word it just means Big Like. It reminds me of an issue with reading web novels using translation apps. The usage of he or she or any indicator of sex constantly alters and rarely remains consistent, because of the very fact that it's translating from Japanese.
I vaguely recall reading a long time ago a fan translation of a novel where it took dozens of chapters until we had a clear indicator that a character was a specific sex, and rather than retroactively correcting every past chapter, the translator only had to add a translator note indicating that now we know and moving forward we'll know. Because it is a linguistic truth that unless we are specifically advised that a character is male or female in Japanese text, we're left to just guess.
