just read it today
it's pretty good

tho, on the villainess tag... hmm... is it villainess?
I mean, the premise is a spin of the villainess trope/premise.
But the story so far is really teetering on the edge of that tag

I guess the word "villainess" hv evolved from a female character to trope to a genre.
Any story that have a character that is banished/to be banished/avoid the banishment during condemnation event would fall under "villainess" genre. Read a lot these "villainess" mangas has this exact situation, although the MC wasn't a villainess in the first place. :nyoron:

Hey all, our group absorbed Sthar Scans, the previous scanlators of this manga, and we were in the middle of working on a few chapters. Should we double upload or how can we proceed? We already have multiple chapters being translated and worked on.

What in the anachronistic world is this?
What time period is this‽ XD
Seemingly late medieval but has widespread literacy, no mention of magic, and now suddenly cameras and kigurumi pajamas‽ Lol.

Yeah, but it does have the setting of being a nation built by the Villlainesses throughout its history so it's like a technicality.
Really, the more surprising part is the first prince being able to grow up like that. His nation's history is probably full of first princes and dukes getting a reversal by "villainesses". They probably even have cultural idioms about it. Heck, they have a thriving literature section on it.

The King should have beat his ass early on to set him straight instead of letting his son repeat history. Kuru's obviously able to learn if he faces consequences, as shown so far.

Father seems like an a'hole. He expected the servants to "parent" him when that would be impossible because of their class differences. He also HIRED a woman to seduce him. How far did that seduction go? It's a really F'ed up thing to do. I am sure they learned to not repeat those mistakes with the 2nd son but who knows, bad parenting effects all kids.

I think it's hitting two definitions of the villainess tag.

Definition 1: fantasy shoujo story (often set in an otome game) with a "breaking off an engagement at a fancy party" scene ✅

Definition 2: fantasy shoujo story (often set in an otome game) where the protagonist matches the rich noble villainess shoujo archetype.

There isn't a character like that in this but the prince does match the rich noble jerk archetype, and he was sent packing in the manner of a villainess for actually fucking up. Feels more true to this definition than all the "villainess" stories where the protagonist has zero villainess traits and has never done anything wrong.

Eh I think if you accept the premise that a country's government and inheritance structure is based on villainess novels then a lot of weird stuff follows including tons of people pretending the first prince will unconditionally inherit the throne until he's like 18.

Like that's super weird, princes in countries where the first prince doesn't automatically become king usually get reminded of that constantly, especially if they have brothers, but I've definitely seen tons of villainess stories where that's apparently how it works.

The one thing that does make sense is the prince doing something that is probably extensively warned against in his country's history and culture.

Like a lot of real life wisdom is basically warnings not to do stuff that people keep doing. Especially people who are too powerful to really get told off directly.
