If the original group's not back by the time I finish doing chapters 1-13, 26-44, and all the extras from other volumes, I might pick it up from the latest chapter, but right now I just want to focus on 'cleaning up'

Sorry if I sound harsh but if you aren't committed, it's better you translated the newest arc or maybe only focusing on what difference from the other translator (like extra or bonus from tanko vers)

it's just sad if the first team stopped translating and you later dropping this series too, and we get nothing... It happens a lot with re-translate series. Or you can just ignore me, I'm only expressing my opinion. No hard feelings.

I know this is hardly appreciated by existing readers who only want to read new chapters. But maybe it's saying something that I'm willing to go back to these old chapters for the sake of quality. It would be so easy to just pick it up from where the previous group dropped off. I'm making hypothetical sentences because I can't promise anything. I'm just one person after all and I also have other stuff I'm working on.

The latest "group" isn't a group, it was me paying Dosweeg to translate it every week because the group that was originally doing it dropped it because "they didn't like where it was going." I have stopped commissioning new translation simply because I have no money. So yeah, "new" chapters aren't getting translated independently.

I see. I thought it would be good to stall for time in case (what I thought was the previous group) didn't drop this series. I really can't fault a scanlator for taking months to update because I am too guilty of that. And they did a very good job so I didn't want to 'snipe' unless there's good reason to.
Seeing the situation is different from what I imagined, I guess it's free reign now...?

I still want to redo chapters, but I'm now more open to doing the new chapters. I could work on them in between the old ones.

There was an anime announcement, but it's still in the works so there's no further information yet. We just have to wait for now.

I don't mean to throw shade, but it's so disappointing when I see a series I like sniped by or started by someone who uses MTL or doing a really horrible TS job. Then I just know that the chances of that series getting a high quality scanlation plummet (unless it gets licensed). I know everyone starts somewhere, but the people who just upload their screenshots of Google lens? Yeah, I'm sorry. Please don't do that.
