Doesn't care, proceed to post a lot of text lol. No you have not read, Strive made Bridget transexual and RUINED the character - not because it's suddenly trans, but because that's not what Bridget was and it ruined his story which was about a boy who was abused by his parents, forced to crossdress and behave like a girl until he ran away in his quest to become a man, that is why he was a bounty hunter - because he thought it was a manly thing to do.

By making him trans, you are giving now the idea that to be trans you can just be GROOMED by your own family that crossdress you among other things. Do you want a proper trans character? Do not mock it by having such a start, have a person be healthy that is simply trying to understand who he or she is, definetly NOT like this and ruin the character.

The way it was handled was completely horrible for the character that Bridget was and completely horrible for the new Bridget by giving it such negative connotations. Did you realise how much people get pissed about his character being ruined but not certain scythe user? No? Must be because the story of Testament had no problems, unlike Bridget.
Be honest, you never gave a shit about the character until it let you shit on trans people.

Made an acct just to correct this. If you’re gonna waste your life being an asshole on the internet, at least be good at it and factcheck. Like this, watch.

First of all, Bridget was never abused, nor groomed. Her parents did what they did because the alternative was to kill her, or abandon her (objectively those are more abusive options), and they still felt terrible about it. Bridget, on the other hand, was fine, and trying to convince her parents she was fine, which her parents saw as her forcing herself to put up with it, making the situation worse.
It is at this point that Bridget runs away to “become a man”. She does this, pretty much entirely, because she loves her parents, and doesn’t want them to worry. She herself never wanted to be a man.

TL;DR She wasn’t abused, there’s no mention of her being unhappy, except when her parents feel unhappy. She tries to “become a man” entirely to make her parents happy, not because she herself wanted it.

Her story was never ruined either, no matter how many capital letters you use. If you couldn’t figure it out, her Strive story revolves around realizing that you don’t have to be defined by how others think about you. It’s about how life is weird and fucked up and confusing but ultimately the only one knows who you are, is you. It’s unfortunate you think that this story is bad.

Also…
Yes, the idea that you can be groomed into being trans is objectively wrong (you seem to be really pushing for it tho, weird), which is yet another reason why Bridget is trans. We know what happens when someone who will grow up to be cis is raised as the opposite gender. It’s not pretty. Definitely not like what we see with Bridget. Bridget just so happened to win the trans lottery. Because as unlikely as it is, it’s still possible. So if you wanna hate her, but keep denying you’re a transphobe by calling her character arc bad, use that. But at the same time, I don’t think it’s exactly wise to worry about what’s “realistic” and “relatable” in the franchise where the Scales of Juno explanation is a real thing that JUST SO HAPPENED to work out. Seriously, this is Guilty Gear we’re talking about. They put critical lore in a pachinko machine.

Oh and don’t go pretending y'all didn’t bitch and moan when Testament did their shit. Only reason they’re relatively unmolested now is because y’all moved on to Bridget.

I can also provide sources if you want the runback.

With all due respect, friend,

"One point in her design that he was particular about was the symbol on her head piece. Originally the male symbol ♂, he had clear intention of changing it to a transgender symbol ⚦ for Guilty Gear Strive. When drawing the roughs, where he had already drawn her with the transgender symbol, the person in charge of cleaning up the model sheets accidentally drew her with the old design's symbol, but this mistake was corrected."
Man I made an account just to tell you get this goofy ah post out of here, you don't know nothing

(japanese)

"In conversations with Goldlewis Dickinson and Ky Kiske, Bridget expresses feeling unhappy but afraid of making the wrong choice, and the other characters relate to Bridget by sharing their own experiences of hiding secrets for the sake of others and of having the courage to reveal them and live as one's "true self", drawing a comparison to Bridget hiding her transgender identity. At the end of her hard-difficulty mode story, Bridget comes out as a woman to Goldlewis and Ky."

"Misinformation

Following her inclusion in Guilty Gear Strive, some fans alleged that Bridget's trans identity was invented by the translation and localization team and was not present in the Japanese version of the game; additional rumors purported that she only comes out as trans in a "bad ending" and identifies as a cisgender man in other endings, with the implication that Goldlewis pressured her into identifying as female. Both claims were refuted by Akira Katano and Daisuke Ishiwatari in their Developer's Backyard blog. Katano stated that "although the difficulty and story dialogue of Arcade Mode change depending on your match results, this doesn't change the main plot, nor are there alternate endings such as 'good' or 'bad' endings. The same goes for other characters' Arcade stories as well", while Ishiwatari reaffirmed that "[a]fter the events of Bridget's story in Arcade Mode, she self-identifies as a woman. So, as to whether 'he' or 'she' would be the correct pronoun for Bridget, the answer would be 'she'."

"The creator of Guilty Gear, Daisuke Ishiwatari, stated that he always intended for Bridget to be a transgender character, confirming that she identifies as a woman in the latest game, Guilty Gear Strive. He emphasized that her story has consistently aimed to explore themes of identity and self-acceptance since her first appearance."

(this one I made by stapling more quotes into one)

As stated above :

No person who is in the deepest pits of escapism would behave like that in this scenario
Or at least I think, I don't know, this is just my opinion
wdyt?

I know you're probably a troll
Which I mean, good on you, if you're having fun at least

But I will leave these snippets here
and the wikipedia link
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridget_(Guilty_Gear)#Misinformation
If anybody wants to do more research. Not even joking, I know opening and skimming through articles, checking them, or even skimming the wiki is kinda hard.
And maybe I don't know, maybe I got some things wrong, I'm just a guy

Please don't really reply, I don't really care
It's just manga, and not even that, a comment section for said manga. I just did this because I really care about this subject and, the more important thing, I used to be and still quite am very gullible and I think some "here have some quotes and links skim a bit" would've helped me a lot.

I hope you have a good day, really
master of the universe, right? It's cool
No harsh feelings
take care
no thaks take your feeling and buzz off

It is for this reason that I long for the days when anime and video games was very niche and the audience was ppl who legit just wanted to enjoy them. Nowadays, with they becoming mainstream, we've got a lot of ppl that just want it to be about them. The Bridget situation is something I've learned to ignore(seriously, that topic pops up at least twice a month, Im over it lol), but people don't even bother looking at the origins of the damn character.

Getting on topic of this manga, it was clearly stated and established that the character, after being reincarnated, is a man body AND soul. Regardless of any type of stance you have in the subject, it can never be Yuri, because the dude is not one. A more accurate description is either femboy or crossdressing(or for weebs, a trap). I dont mind ppl wanting trans stuff in media, but I hate the fact that anytime we get a trap or something, it HAS to be about that.

Either way, we about to get bashed dude, but I agree with your comment lol
diet transphobia is so tiring just call me a slur
