From his explanation, I understand that he doesn't known what it is, but it is taking a fluctuating form for each individual point of view because it isn't anything recognizable for them? Like when someone can't understand something, the brain will try to assimilate an object or matter to something it knows.

Yep, we have this theory that nobody able to see it's real form because romm surprised when Miko said it looks like a middle aged man. So romm must be seeing something different.
I guess we have the confirmation now that nobody knows what it is how to exorcise it.

The entity spottee have been following Miko before she got her power though, so the entity might actually following Miko's dad since if I remember she got her power after her father passed away.

Do let me know if I'm wrong, so what I can understand from what Seto said basically:

• The existent of "ghost" and "apparitions" is a distorted concept that can fool some individual (like Miko) into seeing them while they actually weren't there, like an illusion, but like a parallel universe, they do exist on the "other side" which was why he said "All things overlap."
• You can't touch them physically.
• They don't have a defined form, but their appearance will form depends on each individual's thought (usually lean on the disturbing aspect of the mind)
• Since they exist while also not at the same time, so they can blur the line between the living and the dead. Seto is the one who "stand in the gaps" so he can "send them back" to where they came from, but he can't close the "door" that lead them here?

I have a suspicion for a while but this is just my entire tinfoil hat theory.
I think really strong entity able to possessed strong medium and taking over their body, since most of the strong ghost we've encountered only feed on human aura instead taking over their body (same case with pii, she just attached to michiru)
Seto did mentioned "crossing" But idk if that's actual translation or not.

My take on it.

There is "something" there, in all these places. Whether human spirits (like her dad, or the family in the hospital) or random yokai type spirits, the person viewing them may go off their subconcious thoughts of what they could actually look like. Why Miko can see them better than Romm or Mitsue, I can't guess.

Why the middle aged man looks the way he does.. its uncanny valley effect. Whats more scary than someone that "looks normal" but really isnt, you could walk past this guy on the street and pay him no mind, but the time you actually look at him.. he seems off.

Remember, the real monsters, are the ones that don't look like monsters.

Huh interesting, so it’s pretty much confirmed the “old man” isn’t a reaper. With Seto and Ron‘s explanation, I’m assuming when you perceive reality everything seems to be in order but “ghosts” defy said order so that reality happens around them. Most people aren’t able to perceive the “ghosts”, so it just seems like random events happening but the “ghosts” exist overlapping in that part of reality making those events. Seto is able to fix these anomalies by exterminating them thus fixing problems and that’s what makes him seem like such a reliable individual in the eyes of normal people I.e. his coworkers. Apparitions regardless of type are causes for burden in the mind of Seto which is why he exterminates without prejudice. Though with that in mind I’m curious as to what Seto’s goons are now. They don’t appear to be normal ghosts, and with Ron’s explanation of using a mod to progress maybe Seto made them or it’s an extension of Seto himself. Considering in the flashback Seto only had one guy maybe he makes more by using other ghosts? The power system seems to be life energy and something opposite that makes ghosts, ghost get stronger by absorbing other ghosts which then in turn allows them to interfere with the world more. On the other side maybe gods and blessing are made from life energy which is why they can neutralize the ghosts and usually require sacrifices to maintain. The whole thing seems like acids and bases and reality is neutral.

If that middle aged man is the Reaper, i wonder what is the Hooded-Santa-looking ghost in the trains are? I mean, he killed and absorb evil spirit that possessing people right?
