I'll never understand people who hate yuri but read gender bend stuff. Like, the ONE THING I can understand about hating yuri is that it's inherently exclusionary. Identify as a man? You'll never experience that form of love. But TS yuri as they call it in Japan... that's no longer an issue. You not only can experience yuri, you're experiencing a form of it that I'd seen cis women actually envy.

I can't emphasize enough though that I'm not bothered if we don't get ever get Jinguuji/Tachibana TS yuri. I like both of those characters regardless of the bodies they occupy. They both deserve happiness and to be their best selves, whatever that looks like from the outside.

Everyone starts their journey of understanding somewhere. I don't begrudge people for being ignorant because ignorance is the default state. But it is frustrating when people are proud of their ignorance and enter public discussions wielding it. But I'll be damned if I wasn't at one time young and dumb enough to have done the same. Thank goodness for gender bender manga for being many a first step on people's journeys to being their best selves. (in my case -- looking at you, Hazumu Osaragi)
