I agree that "revenge is bad" is a bad aesop half the time because a lot of the time it's not only deserved, but also the only way for the characters to have any justice

What Theodora is talking about is the pointless cycle of violence caused by hateful people on both sides, which is why she wants to deal with her side first

Also, yes technically she did spill a little of "revenge is bad" too because of her attempted rapists, but I think it's part because they're already being punished, part because she's thinking about the bigger picture, that they need to change their ways as a whole too

Unfortunately knowing this manga there's 50/50 chance Theodora idealism will backfire due to how this world is fucked up

Calling it, chances are only a few of the good demons from her side will survive and Raoul will take them to his paradise

This world is too far gone for any sense of redemption. It's like trying to find redemption on a Daemon world from 40K. That shit just needs to be exterminated.

Redemption at this point just feels so forced.

Real "demons" (not the demon race we see here) don't roam the streets, there are no tyrants in power killing each other in an endless amusement for eldritch gods, there are still laws and systems of government in place, and those system aren't burdened under the weight of tens of thousands of years of forced pacification and servitude.

Let's not compare an apple to a heavily mutated semi-sentient alien Cthulhu-spawned version of an orange.

As the characters keep emphasizing, there are still many good people in the world, and it's also increasingly obvious the series is making a statement of how endless cycles of violence, revenge, and hedonism especially at the top levels of the countries or at the god's level, are the cause for the general moral rot. Without those, people can be steered to the right path. Raoul has already begun that by isolating parts of the population that aren't affected by said rot.

If you ask me, its not that difficult in relative terms to 'fix' this world. It doesn't even have social media like our world, which is the greatest barrier to combating homogenous moral rot.

I don't think so. I think it was more implied the other kinds of SA besides grape. Lots of BDSM and "training", but no penetration. Or maybe penetration of the backdoor, since her "purity" would be saved for the human who bought her.

There is more important business than "looking serious".

Regarding the state of the world: It's clear that Raouls scope is currently not wide enough, but he can't just drop his principles or he might go down the slippery slope. That's why he looks for people he can use to get rid of the other rot as well.

The only thing that can save that world, is to purge all the rotten beings, favorably far away from the innocent as to not taint their souls.

This Manga can only and in a purge. The only question left is: How much of the population will die.

Also, I kinda foresee Theodora trying to "save" Raoul. We will see if it happens and whether she succeeds. Gotta get some proof that Demons and Humans can live together. wink wink
