Why are childhoodfriends doomed!?! The author gave us exactly what we wanted with their previous serie, so why make such a compeling character and condemn them to be rejected :'(
the secret route is actually Ayumu and Asuka getting together because it turns out Hina actually really has no interest in romance, and the rivalry between her CF and her Kouhai ends up smashing them together instead like particles in the LHC.

the author is COOKING with this one!! 🔥 🔥 🔥

Don't get me wrong, I liked the previous one a lot, but this one? I love the characters, their thoughts and interaction a TON

I would unironically love that. But I don't see it happening unfortunatly...

I would be very, very surprised if it actually happened, yeah. It's a fun little "what if?", but making Hina actually Aro feels like a stretch to begin with, much less having the other two somehow come together. (Oil & Water is definitely a pairing trope that can work, but I dunno if it's doable in this specific context.)

Honestly don't even feel bad for the childhood friend, she had plenty of time to make a move but it's only acting now that she has competition.
nah - Asuka's been friends with Hina since...well, they were kids. And she had a front-row seat to her best friend turning down everyone who approached her with romance in mind, and be single-minded in her focus on running/athletics.
She has every justified reason to believe that Hina really didn't care about/want to date or do the SO thing, with literal years' worth of track record and evidence to back that up, and so she'd resolved to simply be her best friend and stick by her as the most important person to.

It wasn't until the literal MC of this title showed up in the present and said the exact same thing to Hina that everyone else had--all of whom had been rejected--only this time, for whatever reason, Hina actually didn't reject MC.
Which has both confused the hell out of Asuka, and probably (understandably) pissed her off.
