...Well it feels contrived to a degree still, but without going back and reading everything all over again, I do believe Evie has technically kept some things from this Elsa (in this particular timeline), so any uncertainty would definitely understandably fester when you throw in malicious entities with a vested interest in sowing chaos within the world (like unbalancing the primary forces seeking its salvation).
The most important thing is that Evie and Elsa be allowed to have an actual conversation that results in their making up with lots of love and affection because....that vignette kinda wasn't sufficient.
