Logically speaking, not sure why Rio would get triggered by seeing Rei with Mahoro, when she knows that Rei likes being around her more than his wife. If anything i would expect Rio to be suspicious about Rei going on a date with Mahoro, when she just recently was told by Rei that he has no love for his wife anymore. If anything that should set her alarms that something is off with the situation.

I could understand Rio sending dms to Rei about what that date was about, since it should be odd it happened. So maybe Mahoro at the very least will check Reis DMs about it. But then again not sure why you need a fake date to check dms, when you can do that anytime.

It works out because cheating is inherently illogical. The upsides do not outweigh the downsides. The emotional mature thing to do would be to try and work things out with your SO, but the second would be to break up with them before doing anything with a new person but people want to selfishly eat two cakes. People think that just because they go on a date with a married person and fuck a couple of times, they'll give up their entire life just for you.

There's a lot of stupid, out of left field things writers try to get you to just except because its "realistic" but when it come to cheating they don't need to try hard because truth is stranger than fiction 100% of the time.

I like Haruto’s character and would like him in a different manga but he feels SO out of place and irritating sometimes. the main thing this manga has going for it is the way the author is drawing from real life…I know she wants to give Mahoro nice things, but having a fantasy guy pop in just breaks my suspension of disbelief

I think that'd be good to point out, that decent men get cheated on as much as decent women. He's also kinda written as the anti Rei - busy but kind and attentive to his wife - and I want him to stay that way.
