I FUCKING LOVE THIS DOWNWARD SPIRAL.

Gomi and Mayopu are just one-upping each other on which is the worst human. Of course, it's Mayopu but Gomi isn't far behind. Tbh, I was expecting them to mano-a-mano inside the office.

So what? They're all just gonna forget all of the abuse cause MC is a freak?

Keeping their ridiculous social conformity intact ➡️ saving someone from possibly deadly domestic abuse
It's not about them forgetting but him being a perv casts doubt on his story and also it's his workplace and they don't really know the husband so most of the blow-back will be against him anyway. Not to mention the level of proof they have of abuse is the level that's regularly overlooked IRL, especially if the FMC doesn't speak up for him.

It's a hard thing to compare, in my mind.

What Gomi's done, and doing, is by no means acceptable in society. In terms of being acceptable to "the in-group", he's deviated in a dangerously drastic manner from the agreed-upon "norm", and that makes him an Outsider who by all rights should be ostracized for the sake of harmony of the collective that his workplace and peers.

Mayopu, however, is actively endangering the life and systematically abusing, arguably torturing, someone who is tied to him and whom he, according to society, should be watching over and protecting from such things, that has resulted in her ending up in the hospital due to her life-long abuse at the hands of everyone around her, with her lawful husband being the latest violent participant.
Gomi hasn't hurt Yumazora, and Mayopu has. Gomi's transgressions are against the social order; Mayopu's are against the physical wellbeing of a person.

Of course, it's essentially comparing being shot with a handgun or stabbed in the side with a rusted knife. You can spend all day arguing over which is worse, debating the damage a high-velocity projectile can do to tissue and the potential of widespread infection from an unclean penetrative wound to the body. But at the end of the day, both are bad, and it's up to the individual to decide whether the social taboo and transgression is worse than the simple violence toward another.

With, of course, the added layer that this is taking place in Japan, a society with a historically significant precedent on prioritizing "honor, image, and conformity" and one that is historically patriarchal and with no small amount of systemic misogyny, which further

...let's say "muddies the waters".

So let's get this timeline straight.
she realised someone was stealing her pads in chapter 1 and bought a spy camera to catch the culprit in chapter 2 and in chapter 3 she heavily flirted with Gomi, put her hand on his and basically asked him to kiss her with body language and invited him to meet up with her another time
She did all of this BEFORE knowing who was stealing her pads.
Chapter 4 she sees the video of Gomi masturbating with her pads, avoids him for a couple of days
Chapter 5 she greets Gomi then Gomi asks her out on a date and she says yes.

So what are the possibilities here?
1. despite deciding that she is interested in an affair with Gomi , she still decided to tell her husband that Gomi was stealing her period pads, knowingly exposing Gomi to great danger and likely ruin while simulatenously fantasising about having a shoujo romance with him. Extreme psycho behaviour

The only way for Yumezora to emerge from this without being totally blackhearted, is if she never showed her husband the video of Gomi jerking off into her pads

In that case she most likely told her husband about someone stealing her pads before knowing who the culprit was.
Then there's two possibilities.
A. after Yumezora saw the video of gomi masturbating into the pads, she lied to her husband and claimed that the spy camera didn't capture a culprit and the pad thefts stopped
B. after Yumezora saw the video of gomi masturbating into the pads, she told her husband that the spy camera found the culprit but she didn't want to escalate because she didn't want to disrupt her work and for the other coworkers to find out but didn't show her husband the video.

However A seems slightly less likely because given how jealous and suspicious of Yumezora having an affair Moyupu is, it seems likely he would already have gone through all her devices and electronic storage devices and so would have already caught her in a lie before receiving the photo from ugly bastard.
And B would be extremely reckless and indifferent to Gomi's wellbeing , because it would mean that Yumezora was planning on having an affair with Gomi while knowing that her husband knows that there is a video of a man stealing her period pads on her camera SD card , and at any point he could decide to watch that video for himself . So B in effect collapses into being almost as bad as Yumezora showing Moyupu the video of Gomi then deciding to have an affair with Gomi. Since it's basically "I'm going to tell my husband that there is a video of a male coworker stealing my period pads on my videocamera and hope he never uses the sd card to watch the video because I want to have an affair with that coworker lol"

It's not looking good Yumezora-sisters.

Bruhhhhhh!!! Omg his coworkers have the attention span of a goldfish, they probably will forget about the objectively worse crime of physical abuse.

I think sadly Kuroko may have been hoping her husband would do something like this, maybe to bring Gomi down to her level? She said herself she can't believe Gomi could genuinely care. It's pretty typical of BPD to essentially "test" people's loyalty by doing crappy things, like "if you can't handle me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best" type of thing
SMH even Yumezora's most loyal defenders suspect she's a blackhearted monster who intentionally set up Gomi to be destroyed by her husband

Don't cry because it's over , smile because it happened .

I wonder where the story goes from here? It seems like there isn't much else to play out if he's totally lost his job getting sued into debt and might get a criminal record. You can't do several volumes of him just just being a loser and the story ending. If it's going to end with him being unemployable , in debt alone , miserable etc. then they can show that epilogue-style in the final chapter.
I guess there needs to be at least one more confrontation with Gomi and Yumezora where he asks her why she gave Moyupu the video of them and we find out whether she's sorry or maintains the "Well you just wanted to fuck me and you sniffed my pads like a creep anyway so fuck you" attitude
I don't see what else they can do with the story to keep it going longer.
Yumezora seems totally over Gomi like she was over Nakusu since she seems to have no interest in continuing the shoujo fantasy with a man who knows how messed up and evil she is, or any interest in having a real relationship.
It doesn't seem very likely that Yumezora would be interested in Gomi if he's unemployed and can't get a job because of his criminal record or possibly because the video of him jerking off to period pads goes viral online.
Gomi spends several years laying low planning a revenge on Yumezora and Moyupu? Doesn't seem like it would fit the tone of the manga.

So what else is there? I guess they could have Yumezora come crying back to Gomi with some bruises again but still there isn't that much of a necessary dramatic obstacle needing to be resolved at this point since almost everything is all in the open now.
Probably the cleanest thing is one more gut punch of Yumezora publicly denying her husband beat her then making some messed up face at Gomi.

Gomi's face on pg 16 was so funny. I just love the face he made in that moment. So good.

Thank you for the translation.

He already has Gomi in a hold. I think he's going to beat him/he'll get jumped WHILE the video is playing in the background for maximum pain & humiliation.

At least Gomi isn't incelish virgin anymore. :pepela:

If he was smart enough (actually he isn't) he could ask the question about a camera in their workplace toilet. It would be very complicated question for that freak Yumezora family. The punishment for camera placing isn't so severe (your social life will be destroyed though). But what about sues from every man who used restroom? What did Yumezoras do with such rich content? Also there are questions about proofs which gained illegally. The court could discard them.

Anyway, written above won't happen.
