When I search the same tag that the newest chapter has and sort by the newest there are some weird gaps, sometimes even, like, 20 chapters are missing.

I dont know, when I read them years ago all of them where there. Might be confusing with the frequent redraws, like last years redraw just wiped out an entire year of progress.

Probably check other manga aggregator sites. There is something called the index moe, which lists all anime and manga streaming sites etc.

Or just suck it up and buy manga+ for a month, I wish something like that existed 10 years ago

There are english translations, but, not on this site.
Use google, or any other search engine: "one punch man read online", there are many shitty sites, but few of them work and have the chapters

You could say it's not the fault of dex but of the DMCA, there is no other way.
It would also be better to don't post links to the other sites here, because the publishers who removed the chapters from dex may still be reading here, if they saw any link to other sites with the chapters, they would go to remove the chapters from there too. So it's safer to just point the direction and let people find it themselves.

On other sites the latest chapter in english seems to be 223 right now.

224 is the current chapter, there's nothing further than that. It is always up to date unless something happens to the subreddit.

To be fair for some reason the latest 1 or 2 chapters were not linked in the main cubari stack for whatever reason
