a series focusing on music and singers is just hard to capture in a pure manga environment. they tried and the artist did a great job, but sadly none of the songs could ever capture me even a little bit. series like this one needs an adaption just to experience the "true" events, but music animes aren't very common these days, or at least i haven't watched any since K-On.

AT LEAST it didn't feel blatantly a novel ad. Sure it had rushed endings and all but it had proper closure.

This was not axed. It caught up to the source material. If I remember correctly the novel author said that they couldn't think of a good way to properly continue the series, so it's on the backburner.
well...that's better than being completely axed. i guess.

A mid end to a mid story, alas.
I do wonder what the point behind compressing it was when the adaptation medium was on hiatus. Kinda sounds like having it properly have air and even dawdling a bit would be more beneficial to bridge more time.
Now it's unlikely many readers will even bother remembering if the story ever continues

Rip it ended 😭. It was really cut short. Season 1 end too? Kinda implies a second season exists but idkk. Kinda wanted more :(

There's a bit of a resurgence of them going on right now. First you had Bocchi the Rock, then Girls Band Cry and Rock is a Lady's Modesty. Probably a few others I can't remember right now.

Wrapping up the competition as a flashback and opening with the MMC sleeping it off was a good opening hook — it definitely got me invested.

I love the dynamic poses, the turbocharged art style when he's playing. It really captures that feeling of magic-in-the-making. While there's hardly a chance this will get an anime, I would love to see those sequences done, and done right.

Maybe it's better that it doesn't get animated, because they'd have to get a studio to go full-bore hardcore black company level effort to do the movement justice.

Back to the manga, I can see it going on, and I can see it ending. We know he's potent. We know she just needs him to unlock her potential. The big story was him overcoming his dislike for his craft and her getting him on board. Now that both are done, it's a good stopping point. From here, I think "idol slop" would be the only things ahead: new member causes friction, rivalry with another group, dark backstory for one of the members causes them to split,

Yanno, there is a lot of potential there...

TL-sama, thank you for not just translating but redrawing this series!

I hate that this was only a promotion for the unfinished novels.
I want the entire friggin story from beginning to end in manga form. I want a multi season anime. And I want the relationships to be pure shura.
