I think he's trying to lower her guard. With the substitution spirit the girl decided to "give" the MC, it could have actually been the other way around with the MC giving her the wave spirit. After all, she's the one who's going to power up a lot and presumably help the MC escape turbo jail. He's also testing when and why the swordmaiden appears. He was completely nuetral when the girl went all lecturing on him about her not being some game character. He didn't react because it was probably within his expectations. And then he decided to break the serious mood by being weird (called her mommy), he asked some seemingly innocent but loaded questions and got a bunch of personal information from her (I don't think he knew she was a student right? Everything she said should've been new). And then he further solidified when she'd come to basically spy on him. He lost nothing in that entire exchange, and also left the swordmaiden satisfied with how she can manipulate him.MC still believes she is a figment of his powers/system and not a real person despite being told otherwise is kinda sad.
The "awakened" version of Sword Maiden just about said "she was a real person"
But MC, because of his preconceptions, still has not fully grasped what that truth implies just yet.
Can´t really blame the guy tho.... but I hope he does try to investigate it eventually.
quote from the novel translation:TLs can you tell us whats behind the panels I'm super curious
so if you change it to the manga wording, it would be basically:Sonya wrinkled her nose. She wasn't a three-year-old child to believe such effortless praise - If you really think so highly of me, just tell me the miracle formula directly!
I'll remember your great kindness, and surely I'll repay you when I make it big!
Even if you die before I make it big, I'll definitely prepare a grand funeral for you!
Lol that makes it even more misunderstanding-ish. Weird that the hologram swordsmaiden was so prickly, is it because the MC was being too unenthusiastic? Anyways, thanks for the info, cheers.quote from the novel translation:

note: I don't recommend the novel though, since it's recently being dmca-ed
This chapter just makes me think the Real Ash is the actual gigachad and the Observer is just some pretender who knows some stuff but will just get instantly mogged by the REAL Ash once he's got his bearings. They don't seem to share memories like the swordsmaiden which is strange as hell.Wow we're grtting to actually see Observer Heath's and Berserker Swordmaiden's "projections" inner thoughts. I do still like their interactions with each other as its clear they're both close to each other, but also how the "projections" actually feel and how much they know but didn't say. Like how Berserker Swordmaiden knows Ash is actually deeply lonely, and how Observer Heath who acts tough or bluffs but actually terrified.
I think you're misunderstanding something, but it's clear thinking 'I won't believe (you)' and 'if you die' is a bit rude, so she's trying to prevent observer from reading her rude thoughts.Lol that makes it even more misunderstanding-ish.
she said it clearly: MC being demanding makes it obvious that Ash still believes that she is his game character, and isn't truly thinking of her as an actual person. so she's saying : please remember to treat me (my past self) more respectfullyweird that the hologram swordsmaiden was so prickly, is it because the MC was being too unenthusiastic?
you're welcomeAnyways, thanks for the info, cheers.
not sure what you mean by 'share memories' , it's clear ash and sonya don't know about their future selves, but their future selves know about their current situation.they don't seem to share memories like the swordsmaiden which is strange as hell.
