taki's ex
I was confused because her ex is maybe a year older than the rest of them, and is very much not an adult, given she was at that other school in the same school uniform as those girls peeking in on her at the piano - hence the "pedophile" comment made zero sense to me.

Nanase is so stupid for taking this bitch back man. Everything that's not in total service to Yuni is a fucking betrayal to her. And now she doesn't even like her anymore. All because Nanase dared to have an actual social life and aspirations in her life outside of Yuni. She's definitely not perfect but holy shit Yuni is 100x worse. I hope Yuki burns this shit to the ground to punish everyone invoved for being retarded.

All you guys need to stop "rooting" for one character over another. NONE of them are worth it. Just sit back and watch and enjoy as this train wreck just keeps getting worse and worse. THAT'S the true value of this manga, afterall...

So we go all the way back to chapter 3......
Completely unexpected development for Yuki, it was "clear" that she has feelings for Nanase but this twisted mentality came out of nowhere.
I don't know she always seen possesive, manipulative, and vindictive to me. Ironically it's pretty honest Nanase is more into her than her own girlfriend.

Not going to lie I mis read this chapter at first then read the comments and went back and read it again and my mind was blown. Originally I thought it was confirming Yuki was the girl always involved with Nanase and she had taken all the heat so Nanase could stay popular, but when I reread and realized she was the one spreading rumors I was like damn maybe she could ship with sexual predator glasses girl lol.
Got to say though this chapter was a great way to end the volume. Wonder if we have to wait a month for the bonus chapter and I'm hoping it will tell us more about Fuuko and confirm she is only a victim of glasses.
Man I can't get enough of this, but I feel like the arch where Nanase and Yuni are a couple is coming to an end. Think it could right on going. Now that we seen Yuki's true colors them getting together could be toxic in a whole new way.
As a fan I also can't help but wonder if this direction with Yuki was taken because she didn't think Yuki had the fan base I know in several afterwards she had said what a big fan of Yuki's she was and she didn't think she was as well recieved as she had hoped. Paraphrasing of course.
Can't wait to see what's next.

Soooo, maybe my reading comprehension isn't the best today but the little flashbacks implies Yuki is the reason Nanase lost her first girlfriend right?

So much for people cheering for her :pepela:

I would argue Yuki is worse than Fuuka cause at least Fuuka is honest and upfront about what she feels and what her intentions are while Yuki purposely ruined Nanase relationship before and is clearly wanting to do it again for a long time, way before she found Yuni was cheating

For all her shitty actions Fuuka at least is self-aware she's a shitty person doing bad things while Yuki justify her actions as being "good" for Nanase
You mean fuuko? 😭

That's fucking cheap author. Demonizing her childhood friend so we will feel sorry for Nanase for having that kind of friend and prefer seeing her with a cheater. That's cheap.

At the second Yuni had some feeling for Fuuko, her romantic relationship with Nanase was dead. The only who still believe in that relationship is Nanase. Their couple is just a masquerade.

I'm still rooting for her childhood friend even though there isn't a lot of chance they will end together.

Screw that, mommy Fuuko all the way, I'm so fucking jealous of Yuni, I wish it was me in her situation, in the wise words of Johnny Bravo:

Hot Take -

Telling people they're enjoying media incorrectly is the only actually objective wrong take that's been posted here.

Nah, this wasn't a cheap shot - Yuni's still a cheater who didn't like that Nanase never paid attention to her; she and Nanase shouldn't be together just because Yuki's a historically manipulative jealous & possessive bitch.

This just shows that Yuki's not "merely a concerned friend" in all of this and actually has selfishly hostile intent toward the couple. And I guess it provides a bit of additional context as to why Nanase seemed to hide the fact she and Yuni were together from the entire world at large -

And it was entirely due to the rumor mill started by her "childhood best friend".

Though, that still doesn't absolve her of being almost laughably ignorant of Yuni's feelings during their relationship, to the point of continuously sidelining her in favor of Volleyball and/or Yuki. Yuni fucked up by cheating and is shitty for that, but it's all contextually related, in the end.

Truly there are no morally upright characters in this series.

That said, Nanase and Yuki deserve one another. Though Yuki seems possessive to the point that she'd freak out if Nanase went off with any other girl friend/teammate on some function, and I have to imagine she'd go so far as to start isolating Nanase and driving her toward eventual misery, given her thought process and actions shown in this chapter.

Damn. Well with Yuki being the one who gave Nanase the trauma about being public that's at the root of her neglectful actions that's her off the 'potentially healthy partner' list. At this point I swear it should just be Nanase and Fuuko getting together with since they aren't like the actual worst. (Only a little bit the worst)
In fact thinking about it Fuuko is ok with being number 2, which would mean Nanase doesn't have to worry so much about being volleyball obsessed. Maybe they do fit each other the best.
Then Yuni and Yuki can have toxic manipulative hatesex in the corner that makes them both miserable and (even more) codependant.

Yeah kind of ironic she's the one who told nanase she shouldn't have to compromise.

So am I the only one got of guard by the Yuki reveal. I legit thought Yuki was going to be the childhood crush. Not some manipulative mastermind. Never thought she'd say something bad about Nanase.
