Yeah I get that the doctors just started prescribing it for every ailment they couldn't figure out, but I feel like that's partially on the doctors for misusing it and partially on the patient for being prescribed a painkiller for likely chronic conditions or diseases and just going along with it (assuming the patient knew about Dacchara being a painkiller and not a cure-all like how this latest doctor mcsuper evilguy marketed it).

Rant aside, I'm curious to see what that thing MC is talking about that'll deal with the roid-ragers he's up against. It'd be cool if they made the magic artillery portable.

I mean, it isn't exactly being portrayed as anything but messed up. It's as direct a foil to the MC as possible. Combine the fact that the knight order he has is essentially a giant harem where he explicitly doesn't have sex with unwilling women to make it even more directly apparent.

Unless we get more information or there is another source saying otherwise, the only issue that was happening before was illegal production of a drug that the noble house in charge was allowing to be made. We don't have a good timeframe yet on when that battle happened, the call might have gone out after the death of the former lord. The raid of the village is implied to have been recent, given the injuries on the elderly and children. They obviously had almost no idea at the time that the mad Doctor's forces were as large or as fearsome as it turned out.
