Her Momma Bear Mode really sells this.
She's obviously strong, just doesn't hog the spotlight and is very much a mother figure - which makes the dynamics between her and other adventurers rather interesting, since we don't really see protagonists like Kachua, much less in these sort of Fantasy Dungeon Power Scaling titles.

But I very much like that she only pulls out the stops when someone's in danger. there's no aura farming (well, not in the 'traditionally seen' sense), or attitude; she just doesn't like others getting hurt.
That coupled with the fact there's an actual built-in drawback mechanic to her power-ups makes this an incredibly balanced power fantasy.

Thanks for your continued TL work on this series. It's already a standout three chapters in, in my mind.

Aug is adorable, I bet they're a young noble lady who is trying to do some adventuring in secret

Would be interesting. But Page 25 shows that she lives in poverty from a flashback. So she's just desperate for a chance to live a better life by gambling her life into adventuring.

What would be nice that even after this and at least one of those two bratty ones fails to rank up anyway due to complaints from the other party members (probably not from mc).
There's no way that's happening, everyone else is too good-hearted.
Also given the overall tone of the story this is probably a setup for those two to learn a valuable lesson.

Still wondering whether this will become a "companions of the week" kinda story or a "mom accidentally adopts a bunch of new sons/daughters" kinda story.

yeah - we already got the little bit of flash-backstory wherein the main "bratty" girl is shown as having been told that she couldn't become an adventurer as a child - and that she saw it as her ticket to freedom and self-empowerment & a chance to get out of poverty.
So her abrasiveness is easily explainable as "desperation" - and that she sees the others as being too carefree and laid-back about something she's taking exceedingly seriously for entirely valid, if personal, reasons.
That sort of discrepancy when one person cares deeply about something, and gets upset when others seemingly treat that same thing in a rather flippant manner, is understandable. A not-too-dissimilar example would be when a student cares about their grades, and ends up simply doing all of the work in a group project because all of their partnered classmates don't care or are goofing off/spending "work time" joking around and not being serious.
That will rub you the wrong way given enough time, and if this isn't her first rodeo of dealing with an ad hoc party wherein she and maybe Saza were the only two who were fully invested in ranking up, she probably has come to see all "newbies" as fair-weather adventurers and just dismisses them all.

And that mindset, coming into this group and this scenario, becomes a prime moment for some potential "leveling up in life", as it were. And like you said - no one in the group is actually cruel or mean; Lucy and Saza are just serious and desperate (I assume Saza's in the same position as Lucy), and the others' attitudes did make it seem like they didn't care as much.

But now she's seen how strong Tachua is, and that will segue (hopefully) into Lucy finding more constructive ways to progress and achieve what she wants, that involve more active understanding and cooperation with her peers.

And honestly, this is a great title for that sort of storytelling.
We already have a Literal Maternal Protagonist, who seeks to protect others around her and wants everyone to be happy and safe. Turning these sorts of things into "growing up" lessons is entirely on-brand and I think could even be done well by the author.

i know it's based on the common games/adventurer stuff but it's amusing how someone can be laid back in calling themselves a 'thief' versus 'rogue' or so XD; Unless it's still looked down upon to steal in town/from others versus using it as a skill in the dungeon haha

These brats need a good spanking.

i'm sure they'll be humbled, other than doubling down in being stubborn and leaving they'd be the types to turn to the most 'loyal'/clingy to mc after being saved and all XD

it's prolly good she'd stay reserve/hope she asks ppl to keep it a secret b/c more team ups aside she might be overworked if ppl find out how big her power really is

that'd make a neat direction for the story, though - she starts getting overwhelmed with requests for help, which forces her away from her kids more and more and she has to make certain she doesn't get sucked into the Adventuring Life and not lose sight of what's actually important.

That, and the fact that using her skill/blessing takes an actual, physical toll on her body, means that she could run the risk of actual permanent injury via the backlash, forcing her to either rely on it less, or be more strategic, or find workarounds if she wants to continue helping adventurers and earning more to put her son through school.

Never, ever discount the words of an old man in a profession where men die young, to paraphrase.

Stupid, stupid kids ignoring the advice and shitting on the experience of somebody who's probably been at the job for more than half their lives and partied with hundreds of different groups. Being a back or front line member doesn't matter in such a case.

Arrogant little shits.
