Ahhh Ls and Rs. The reason I knew his forename was “Rex” and not “Lex” was because of the X account's handle (magicdr_rex). Was it established within the series prior to this?

As Super7X said, because the twitter account for the manga has it as REX and also in this omake, in the page 3, the last panel, the Japanese version literally wrote there R.R in English, which was how I knew I got it wrong.
Alright thanks, I thought you were the one translating the "R.R" part. Yeah it leaves little doubt if the artist wrote it like that.

Ah the arbitrary vaguely western sounding name spelling conundrum. At least the Rex Randiel is an okay name. I'll never forgive how the first prince of Bakarina went from Jared in the novel's fan TL (acceptable young prince name) to Gerald in the English manga (awful, imagine a 16 year old called Gerald, but at least it is a real name) to Geordo and Jeord in the official novel and anime (excuse me???). I don't even remember which the author decided was the official name, all I know is that it wasn't the most tolerable option

Belma's name too tbh... since it's 'ベルマ' this 'ベ' can be either 'BE' or 'VE'... again i took a gamble 50/50, i went with Belma because Velma is simply too feminine IMO and logically, while his gender might've changed, his name didn't... hopefully it won't come back to bite me again LOL

Belma sounds better for a demon too (Belial, Belphagor, Beelzebub, etc). I don't have any say in it, but my two cents is that even if there is an official name and it's Velma or straight up Beruma... No. It's Belma.
