Sometimes I don't get what's so bad about being in a friend zone with someone. People in the most successful, happiest marriages say their spouse is their best friend, among other things. So wouldn't becoming someone's friend mean you're in the right direction in getting with them? With the final destination becoming ... their best friend, since best friend = spouse, right?

Am I crazy for thinking this?

Dont do fake confessions to people you care about romantically guys! It can seriously damage trust and your romaantic prospects with that person!

It's a euphemism. When you're being told 'let's just be friends', usually it's just a polite way of telling you to take a hike. No implication of friendship or having a second chance there, you just pick up the pieces of your broken heart and keep looking for the half that can make it whole again.

Love when a scanlation team is just as funny as the manga they're working on. Thanks for the TL!

Typically when people say friendzone, they're talking about a purely platonic relationship with no possibility of romance. Obviously there's nothing objectively wrong with that, but for a lot of guys a relationship with a woman is pointless if sex isn't a possibility because they dislike women

I don't think that's what most people mean when they say friendzone. I think most people just see that as a rejection

I can understand that, but in this case the shipping bro has no idea the girl has feelings for him, and is just happy to make another friend along with MC. Nothing has been put out there for either of them to reject yet.

If one of them confesses and the other brings up the 'let's just be friends' phrase, then sure, there's no hope for the confessor to progress their relationship with the other, and they can either live with it or break it off then and there before moving on. If they stick with the former, though, then the rejecter should expect their 'friendship' to not be the same from that point onward and not anticipate the confessor to be as attentive/kind to them.

no, as long as it's not the toxic kind of friendship where the girls profits from the man's presence, you are mostly right, real couples are like friends, even bros, the important part is that they look like accomplices when interacting together
