You just gotta wait for her to show more vulnerability only then will the snake be capable of striking
Not gonna happen any time soon. Unless she somehow gives up on trying to get Kusunoki to show her bad side. Unless she genuinely realizes her goal all along was wrong, I doubt MC will even give her the time of day.

she shows vulnerability when the mc shows kindness towards and is reminded of that kindness. That will be the main catalyst as to why she starts to break down and become attached to him. Depending on what type of date well if it happens which is very likely, we could very well see her show more vulnerability unless the date is just something that last half a chapter or less.

Kusunoki already on her way to repeating history, I see.

Call it a fever-induced incident in the moment, but if she doesn't correct things next chance she gets...well, Keisuke already thinks she's "noticing him", because she's not being direct about her shift in demeanor.

I very much see Kusunoki failing to get ahead of things and preventing the same sort of situation that transpired in the flashback - only I suspect the author will go "but Otobe and Keisuke are understanding so Kusunoki's behavior won't be punished this time", but I guess we'll see.

Unfortunately for Hebikawa I think it'll be a bit before she lands the date. And I think her having his handkerchief in the meantime will be important in some capacity, though I'd have to read back through to see if Kusunoki or Otobe knows that it's his, or something.

I love Hebikawa but it's good that she meet resistance from Shizuki, that wouldn't have been intersting if she gets her way too easily, and it shows that Keisuke isn't a idiot either.

I don't think Keisuke even knows that's a goal of hers. All he knows is that she was the reason he got fucked over in middle school, and that's where the brunt of his animosity and ambivalence toward her originates.

Which is why he's so weirded out by her advances now, of course - but we've already got the groundwork laid for Hebikawa to, if not abandon her "Kusunoki Plan", at least start falling in earnest for Keisuke. In spite of his established reasons to dislike her, he's come to her aid more than once, and has shown that he will be kind, considerate, and compassionate toward her even through his resentment.
And she's clocked it to some capacity as well. So while she's doing this consciously as part of her efforts to see Kusunoki "fall" (because she's operating under the impression that Kusunoki has feelings for Keisuke), I suspect that the more time she's able to spend around Keisuke, the more her own feelings will shift to the forefront, and she'll end up fully falling for him at some point when the narrative calls for it.

So, unless the author goes in some very unexpected direction with all of this, It's very much a question of "when", not "if".
