based on what she's said and how she comes off i'd guess she developed some kind of social anxiety, so naturally she worries about what other people think...

and i'm not sure why so many people in this thread are so critical of mirei when soprano's even more of a mess imo. the one who needs to be more "considerate" is soprano, she's constantly testing and crossing boundaries. mirei is "leading her on" according to her friend and soprano but... she's honestly been pretty clear with how she feels about soprano? she quite literally flat out-told her that she wants to be friends. and leaning into soprano's antics isn't the best judgment yes, but she's clearly a pushover, especially when it comes to soprano. i'm sure soprano's well aware of it and that's why she takes advantage of it.
